About me...
This site is for my students and their parents. I have been teaching Science at TOHS since 2001. Currently, I'm teaching 4 courses: Physiology Honors, AP Research (former Scientific Research), Physiology Honors, Biology Honors and Biology CP. I got my Ph.D. in Cell Biology/Physiology from the University of British Columbia, Canada and published my work in top scientific journals. I also worked as a graduate research assistant and completed my first post -doctoral research at University of British Columbia. While conducting further research at UCSB, I completed my second post-doctoral fellowship and published my research in American journals.
In order to reach out to our younger students, I obtained teaching credentials in Biology and Chemistry from CSUN and started teaching in a high school. Due to my passion for science education and research, I have always encouraged my students to participate in the local science fair competition. I have always gone the extra mile by explaining the difficult concepts to my students at lunch time/prep period. Parents and students can communicate with me via email regarding any questions or concerns about the courses/students. I want my students to know that YOU are wonderful and I really enjoy teaching YOU all! Keep it up!
In addition to teaching these courses, I am an adviser for the Science Club on campus. I recommend that you join one of the campus clubs/programs and be a part of the Lancer family! It is a good idea to get involved in club activities on campus if you are interested in a leadership role at TOHS. If you have any other questions, please email me at [email protected].
A big "thank you" to all the parents who donated for the AP Research-STEM course this year! We appreciate your generosity and support for these amazing science programs at TOHS. We could not have done this without YOU!
