About me... I obtained my Ph.D. in Cell Biology/Physiology from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada followed by a postdoctoral training there. Then I worked as a postdoctoral scientist in Cell and Molecular Biology and a sessional lecturer at the University of California, Santa Barbara for 3 years. In order to pass my knowledge on to our high school students, I obtained my teaching credentials in Biology and Chemistry from CSUN and started teaching science at Thousand Oaks High School. I have been teaching Anatomy, Physiology Honors, AP Research (former Scientific Research), Biology Honors and Biology CP at Thousand Oaks High School for the last 19 years. Additionally, to challenge myself a little more, I have been teaching Pre-nursing Anatomy and Human Physiology at Moorpark College as an adjunct professor. I was a pioneer in bringing college level Research to a high school and shaping the Ventura County Science Fair by serving as a SF committee member, judge and an advisor for the local Science Fair. In 2016, I was awarded the State Science Fair Teacher of the Year. Over the years, I have been sharing my knowledge, wisdom, research experience and lab skills with students of all levels and backgrounds.
Currently, I prepare AP Research students for the College Board and further undergraduate research; prepare Physiology H students for premed in undergraduate programs; Bio H and Bio CP for high level science courses offered at TOHS. I would like to continue to inspire our young minds to excel in high school and beyond by working hard and being resilient in life.
Students can follow the links on this website to check out some other Anatomy, Physiology H and AP Research sites used in my courses! We have recently moved to CANVAS, therefore, all assignments and their due dates will be posted in CANVAS. Biology Honors assignments and all other course materials will be posted in CANVAS as well. Students may join my courses in CANVAS through the CVUSD and School office.
Most lecture notes are posted here in a word format. Power points and PDFs are posted in the "CANVAS".. If you have any questions about the courses I teach, please email me: EMAIL ME.
